A matinee featuring harpsichordist Barbara Maria Willi and her musical friends is a traditional part of the marathon Sunday. This time at the New Town Hall in Brno, the resident ensemble Academy Kroměříž Collegium Colloredo will perform under the direction of Tomáš Netopil, with Barbara Willi at the harpsichord and soprano Simona Šaturová as a special guest.

The programme features motets, arias and sonatas by Baroque masters - Antonio Vivaldi, Dietrich Buxtehude and Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber.

The concert is part of the subscription series "Barbara Maria Willi Presents..."

About: Tomáš Netopil

The Kroměříž-born conductor who won the Sir Georg Solti Competition in Frankfurt in 2002 now leads the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK and appears on stages from Chicago to Sydney. A decade in Essen and six years as Principal Guest Conductor of the Czech Philharmonic have established him as an interpreter with a rare feel for Czech music and the grand operatic repertoire alike.
