A lecture and workshop accompanying the exhibition "Vase: Symbol of Life and Culture" at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague. The programme is led by Ing. Lucie Bláhová, curator of the National Heritage Institute. The introductory lecture presents types of historical vases and flower arrangements from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century as they appear in period images. Attention is also given to the range of plants available in that era and examples of contemporary flower arranging in historical interiors. This is followed by a guided tour of the exhibition. In the workshop, participants create flower arrangements for the historic building of the Museum of Decorative Arts under the lecturer's guidance. The programme lasts approximately 4 hours. Admission to the "Vase: Symbol of Life and Culture" exhibition is included in the ticket price. Water or tea is provided for participants.
