Šimon Pánek in Direct Speech with Petr Vavroušek

Šimon Pánek rose to prominence as one of the leaders of the student movement during the Velvet Revolution. He stood alongside Václav Havel, who saw in him the potential of a political leader and perhaps his successor. However, Pánek chose a different path — he devoted his energy to developing the humanitarian organization People in Need, which has been helping in various parts of the world since 1992. He will discuss what this work entails and how politics intersects with it in a conversation with Petr Vavroušek in the Direct Speech programme.
