Gesualdo: Madrigals

Performers: The Quintet S!

The programme is entirely devoted to Carlo Gesualdo da Venosa, a Renaissance prince and composer. His late madrigals rank among the pinnacles of chromatic polyphony - they are marked by unexpected harmonic shifts, dissonances, and extreme emotional intensity.

The vocal ensemble The Quintet S! will perform these technically and expressively demanding works in the space of the Zadní Synagogue. The concert will be complemented by work with light and shadow.
