Marie Magdalena Fuxová performs a solo violin recital on Saturday, 16 May 2026 in the Church of St. Martin in Frenštát pod Radhoštěm. This is the second stop of a three-date Czech tour, beginning in Prague the day before and concluding in Ostrava on Sunday. The historic Baroque church, completed in 1680 and crowned with a distinctive onion dome, provides an intimate setting for chamber music. About the venue: Churches of St. Martin and St. John the Baptist

The Roman Catholic parish of Frenštát pod Radhoštěm administers two historic churches. The parish church of St. Martin (the so-called lower church) was completed in 1680 on the site of an older church that burned down in 1661; it is a baroque single-nave building with an onion-domed tower, decorated with a triptych of the Wallachian Madonna by Adolf Liebscher and a Wallachian Nativity Scene by Jan Knebl. The filial church of St. John the Baptist (the so-called upper church) dates from 1640, with its tower completed in 1780; the interior features neo-Gothic furnishings from an 1891 re-Gothicization, and the church is a state-listed cultural monument.

About: Anna Paulová

Anna Paulová (born 1993) is a Czech clarinettist regarded as one of the most prominent of her generation. She won 2nd prize at the Prague Spring International Music Competition in 2015 and first prize at the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation Competition in 2016. She specialises in performing Mozart's clarinet repertoire on the basset clarinet. Her debut album, featuring music by Karel Husa and Bohuslav Martinů, was released on Supraphon in 2023.
