About the venue: La Fabrika

La Fabrika is a multi-purpose cultural centre in the Holešovice district of Prague, opened in 2007. It was created by converting several early-20th-century factory buildings, designed by the KAVA studio - the name combines a nod to New York's La MaMa theatre with a reference to the industrial origins of the building. Its two black-box halls host theatre, dance, concerts, exhibitions, film screenings, performances and workshops.

About: Václav Kuneš

Prague-based choreographer and dancer Václav Kuneš has led 420PEOPLE since 2007, building it into one of the Czech Republic's leading contemporary dance companies. His career spans eleven years at Nederlands Dans Theater and collaborations with figures including Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.

The 420PEOPLE ensemble is preparing the premiere of the new choreography KINTSUGI for September 2026, inspired by the Japanese technique of repairing broken objects with gold.

Václav Kuneš will lead the first dance intensive 420PEOPLE Summer Dance Intensive at Lipnice Castle above Sázava (July 6-11, 2026).

In February 2025, Studio Maiselovka hosted the world premiere of the choreography Design of Time - a joint project by Václav Kuneš with Japanese choreographer Saburo Teshigawara and dancer Rihoko Sato as part of the 42+PEOPLE project.
