"Kyiv Modern Ballet" in Prague: "Carmen.TV"

"Carmen.TV" is a production by the academic theatre "Kyiv Modern Ballet", choreographed by Radu Poklitaru to the music of Georges Bizet's opera. It draws on Prosper Mérimée's story, recast in a contemporary frame: passion, jealousy, loneliness, and the destructive force of love.

What sets this version apart is its shift of focus onto Micaëla. No longer a minor character, she becomes the central figure through whom the entire story unfolds.
