Chantal Poullain performs with Štěpán Markovič's trio on Sunday, 11 October 2026 at Reduta in Olomouc's Horní náměstí. The French chanson singer brings a programme of romance and humour as part of her Czech tour, which spans two cities. Reduta serves as the home venue of the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc, one of the country's oldest symphonic ensembles, founded in 1945. The historic hall, built in 1831 in the Empire style, remains a cultural landmark in the heart of the city.

About the venue: Reduta

The Reduta on Horní náměstí (Upper Square) in Olomouc is the home venue of the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc, one of the oldest symphony orchestras in the Czech Republic (founded 1945). The hall was opened in 1831 as part of the Empire-style theatre building and originally served as a ballroom. A major reconstruction in 2001 modernised the acoustics and increased seating to 500. The upper floor houses the Mozart Hall, which serves as a foyer anteroom.

A Marseille native who chose communist Czechoslovakia as her home in the 1980s, she has become one of the most beloved figures in Czech theatre and film. At her chanson evenings with Štěpán Markovič's trio she performs her own songs alongside classic French chansons, weaving in stories from her own life.
