Marie Rottrova brings her gala concert to Litomyšl on Friday, 25 September 2026 at Smetanův dům. The performance is one of three Czech dates on her autumn tour. Smetanův dům, a modernist building from 1903-1905, serves as the city's cultural centre and is a protected architectural monument. The programme features her greatest hits from a long career, Christmas songs and ballads. The concert begins at 19:00 at Komenského náměstí 402 in central Litomyšl.

About the venue: Smetana House

Smetanův dům is Litomyšl's main cultural centre and a listed heritage building. The neo-Renaissance structure with Art Nouveau elements was built in 1903-1905 to designs by Jan Šula, Viktorin Šulc and Josef Velflík, and opened on 11 June 1905. The large hall functions primarily as a theatre stage, while the venue also hosts concerts, a ball season, the Litomyšl Music Evenings and the Smetanova Litomyšl festival. A summer open-air stage stands in the park beside the building.

About: Marie Rottrová

Czech singer, pianist, composer and lyricist Marie Rottrová was born on 13 November 1941 in Ostrava-Hrušov. Known as the "Czech Lady Soul," she began performing in the early 1960s with Ostrava-based bands Majestic and Flamingo, relocating to Prague only in 1985. Across more than six decades of artistic activity, she has recorded over thirty albums and performed at more than three thousand concerts; in 2024, President Petr Pavel presented her with the Medal of Merit, First Class.

In December 2024, Rottrová performed two Christmas galas with the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava - on December 1st at the Ostravar Arena and on December 22nd at the Prague O2 Arena.
