Kirill Yakovlev Trio feat. Jiří Kotača — Music Lab, Brno

Immerse yourself in emotion. Kirill Yakovlev Trio balances on the edge of rock, cinematic ambience, and Eastern folk music. Brno-based trumpeter Jiří Kotača - winner of the Anděl music award - merges Scandinavian jazz with masterfully composed melodies. The group is characterized by uncompromising groove, instrumental virtuosity, atmospheric compositions, and distinctive soundscapes oscillating between melancholy and explosive rock energy.

"The trio's latest single begins as a melancholic ballad and launches like an arrow, reaching explosive rock energy by the end." - Czech Radio Jazz

Virtuous guitarist and composer Kirill Yakovlev has performed in the USA (New York, Vermont, Montana, Houston, West Virginia) and at prestigious festivals including Bohemia JazzFest, JazzFest Brno, and Grünland Festival in Austria. With his new trio, he regularly returns to Denmark, where his performances resonate strongly with the local music scene.

Jiří Kotača is an acclaimed composer and trumpeter who has performed throughout Europe. In 2024, he received the Anděl music award for the album "Our Stories" by the "Alf Carlsson/Jiří Kotača Quartet".
