Bratři Ebenové — Kino Sokol, Kladno

Music Club Dundee Jam presents a concert by the band Bratři Ebenové at Kladno's Kino Sokol. The ensemble will perform a selection of their work spanning from their debut album Malé písně do tmy (1984) to their latest release Co my víme (2023).

Bratři Ebenové is a trio of brothers - Marek, Kryštof, and David Eben - along with other leading Czech musicians. Sons of the renowned composer Petr Eben (1929-2007), they received classical musical training while absorbing influences from modern folk, jazz, and rock music. The band is completed by rhythm section members Jiří Zelenka and Pavel Skála from the band ETC, plus exceptional jazz bassist Jaromír Honzák. This is a truly unique and unconventional group on the Czech music scene, with an absolutely distinctive "Eben sound". Drawing from all artistic sources and employing various unusual instruments alongside Marek's exceptional lyrics, Bratři Ebenové represent a revelation for the folk scene.

On 1 September 2023, the band released their sixth studio album "Co my víme", featuring 13 new compositions (11 on vinyl). All music and lyrics were written by Marek Eben, except for the instrumental piece Clafoutis, composed by the youngest brother David. The album was recorded at Birdland Studios in Povážská Bystrica and mixed by legendary British sound engineer Phill Brown, who has worked with Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Cat Stevens, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, and Dido, among many others. Mastering was entrusted to the equally renowned British engineer Denis Blackham.

Foyer opens at 18:30. Cloakroom and bars available. Tickets on sale online and at Dundee Jam, nám. Svobody 1626, Kladno. More information at www.dundeejam.cz
