A dramatization of the acclaimed novel by Irena Douskova. The story follows Helenka Součková, a second-grader, as she navigates the tragicomic years of Husák's normalization in the early 1970s through the inquisitive and innocent perspective of an eight-year-old child. Against the backdrop of a school and theatre in an unnamed provincial town, a series of comic incidents, embarrassing moments, and small and large misfortunes unfold - which little Helenka not only experiences but also evaluates and comments on with the directness natural to her age. Barbora Hrzánová won the Thalia Prize in 2003 for her extraordinary female stage performance in this production.
