Kino Portyč, located on Čechova Street, holds 340 seats and underwent renovation following the 2003 floods, gaining more comfortable seating. The venue has served as a civil defence shelter and has been run by the Písek Cultural Centre since 2016.

About the venue: Kino Portyč

Kino Portyč opened in June 1990 and has been run by the Centrum kultury města Písek since 2016. The main auditorium seats 340 and doubles as a nuclear shelter - it was renovated after the 2003 floods and fitted with more comfortable seating. A second screen for 40 viewers was added in 2019, giving the cinema up to six titles on weekends. Part of the foyer functions as a gallery space, with exhibitions running throughout the year.
