The concert Famous Musicals and Film Music takes place on Sunday, 11 October 2026 in the Bethlehem Chapel in Plzeň. Bronislava Smržová brings to Husova Street a programme of songs from world-renowned musicals - Memory, Think of Me, Moon River and other classics. Soprano, violin, oboe and guitar will create an intimate setting within the functionalist chapel built in 1926-1927 and designed by Prague architect Josef Blecha Jr. The building is marked by restrained yet artistically convincing design close to cubism. This performance is one of four Czech dates on the tour, which continues in November in Liberec and in December in Prague.

About the venue: Betlémská kaple Plzeň

The Betlémská kaple on Husova Street is a church of the Evangelical Methodist Church, built in 1926-1927 to a design by Prague architect Josef Blecha ml. The building is notable for its plain yet artistically accomplished style close to Cubism, with no decorative ornament. The congregation was founded in 1923; after 1948 the communist regime confiscated the church, and it was only returned to its original owner in 1991. Today it is run by the ECM Maranatha congregation and hosts both regular services and public cultural events.
