The band began forming in autumn 1982 when Maťo Ďurinda (real name Martin Ďurinda), a first-year student at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Comenius University, met drummer Juraj Černý through a friend at the wine bar Veľkí Františkáni. Černý was a student of documentary directing at the Academy of Performing Arts and had already performed with the well-known entertainment big beat group YPS. At their first conversation over wine, they hit it off immediately.
