Karel Kahovec's birthday concert takes place on Thursday, 5 November 2026 at 19:00 at the Barikádníků cultural centre in Prague's Strašnice district. The legendary Barča hosts an evening with bands George & Beatovens and The Beatles Revival, featuring the greatest hits of Czech big beat and Beatles compositions. Kahovec celebrates his milestone on one of nine Czech dates across his tour, which spans Milín, Sezimovo Ústí, Vrchlabí and beyond. The cultural house, built in 1945-1946 through the collective effort of Prague Uprising participants, long served as a refuge for bands outside the official cultural sphere and remains a cherished venue on Prague's music scene.

About the venue: KD Barikádníků

Kulturní dům Barikádníků - known locally as Barča - stands in the Strašnice district of Prague 10 and was built in 1945-46 by participants of the Prague Uprising working on a self-help basis. Before 1989 it served as a refuge for bands outside the official cultural mainstream; today it hosts concerts, balls, dance afternoons and school lectures. The Prague Chamber Orchestra uses it as its home rehearsal space, and the hall is available for private hire.

About: Viktor Sodoma

Viktor Sodoma is a Czech singer and one of the key figures of the domestic bigbeat scene in the 1960s. He sang with Flamengo and The Matadors, stepping into Karel Kahovec's shoes in 1967, and later teamed up with František Ringo Čech - their tongue-in-cheek hit Žárlivý kakadu became his signature song. Around the turn of the 1980s he also performed with the original Katapult lineup.
