Kulturní dům Barikádníků - known locally as Barča - stands in the Strašnice district of Prague 10 and was built in 1945-46 by participants of the Prague Uprising working on a self-help basis. Before 1989 it served as a refuge for bands outside the official cultural mainstream; today it hosts concerts, balls, dance afternoons and school lectures. The Prague Chamber Orchestra uses it as its home rehearsal space, and the hall is available for private hire.
