Summer at Café Práh: Irish Evening - Lisheen & Dálach
Irish evening at Café Práh is back - this time with international guests! An evening full of traditional Irish music awaits.
19:00 Lisheen
20:30 Dálach
Lisheen
Laura Ugur (IRL) - violin
Antonia Duša Wernig (AUT) - Irish pipes, whistles, vocals, guitar
Róbert Császár (HUN) - guitar, button accordion
An international trio of musicians focused on the repertoire of southern Ireland. Violinist Laura Ugur grew up in the West Cork region near Sliabh Luachra, a mountainous area with a strong musical tradition. The Sliabh Luachra style has the greatest influence on her playing. Her teacher was John Coakley, who has long studied the music of this region. Laura has also played with two Sliabh Luachra violin legends - Maurice O'Keeffe and Paddy Cronin. She is joined in the trio by Austrian piper Antonia Wernig, who lived in southern Ireland for many years and, like Laura, studied at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance in Limerick. Robert Császár accompanies them on guitar and button accordion. Lisheen will perform several concerts in Central Europe in July, and their only performance in the Czech Republic will be at Café Práh in Brno!
Dálach
Michaela Riedlová - vocals, guitar
Adam Smaza - guitar, bouzouki
Matúš Smolko - flute, whistles
Ondřej Volčík - violin
Dálach brings listeners authentic Irish traditional music. The band's repertoire is carefully assembled to present the musical tradition of the green island in all its diversity and richness. They often find inspiration in archival recordings and discover little-known or nearly forgotten gems of Irish tradition.
