"Three Musketeers and I" by Dmitri Krylov at the Estates Theatre
Stavovské divadlo, Prague
from 150 Kč · ≈ 6 €
Director Dmitri Krylov's production "Three Musketeers and I" is an original creation of the National Theatre's Drama Company, presented on the stage of the Estates Theatre. This marks the first collaboration between the Drama Company and the world-renowned director and set designer, who left Russia after signing a letter condemning the annexation of Crimea and now lives in New York. The production is dedicated to the director's grandmother and draws loose inspiration from two classic novels: Alexandre Dumas's The Three Musketeers and Jules Verne's Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. At the heart of the story are a young boy and his grandmother—incurable dreamers who together transform grey everyday life through the power of imagination. The visually opulent narrative combines theatrical action with puppet scenes, acrobatics, physical theatre, and live music. Puppeteers, dancers, and technicians are acknowledged as part of the stage and actively participate in the action. The production is intended for audiences aged 10 and up and is suitable for the whole family. Warning: the production uses tobacco products and strobe lighting. Before selected performances, a dramaturgical introduction is held in the Mozart Salon (30 minutes before the start, free with ticket, no reservation required). Tickets can be purchased online on the National Theatre website or at the box offices. There is no parking at the Estates Theatre; the nearest supervised parking is at OC Kotva (Revoluční 1) and OC Palladium (Na Poříčí 3a).
