The King's Guard

Following a violent political coup that shakes the Joseon dynasty, King Yi Hong-wi is deposed and sent into exile.

In the remote mountain village of Gwangchungol in Yeongwol, Mayor Eom Heung-do struggles to provide for his people. Hoping to revive the village, he offers Cheongnyeongpo as a place of exile - believing it will bring great fortune. But the man he welcomes is not a powerful nobleman, but the young deposed King Yi Hong-wi.

Eom Heung-do is tasked with overseeing the exile and must watch Yi Hong-wi's every move. As days pass, he grows increasingly concerned for the boy who has lost his will to live.
