Katana - A Scenic Massacre to Live Music from Kill Bill
A student orchestra brings Tarantino's iconic Kill Bill soundtrack to the stage - and around it unfolds an original story.
Katana is a musical-theatrical performance in which the student orchestra Ensemble MiDiversa plays live music from the Kill Bill films. The music here is not accompaniment - it is the main character. Around individual compositions, an independent story unfolds about a sacred sword, loss and revenge, told through dance, shadow theatre and a narrator's voice.
The project emerged as a collaboration between two arts schools - ZUŠ Veveří and ZUŠ Slunná - and brings together their music, dance and visual arts departments. The result is roughly a fifty-minute spectacle at the intersection of concert, cinema and theatre, suitable for younger audiences as well.
