Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra

The year is 55 BC. All of Gaul has fallen under Roman rule - all of it? No. One small Gallic village continues to resist, home to the famous Asterix, Obelix, and the druid Panoramix, whose magic potion transforms ordinary Gauls into the strength of Roman legions.

When Queen Cleopatra makes a wager with Julius Caesar that her people can build a magnificent palace in three months, the architect Numerobis faces a simple choice: either he will be buried in gold, or he will end up in a crocodile's belly. He has no choice but to seek help where Rome has no chance.

Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra ranks among the most successful French films of its era. Director Alain Chabat's film surpassed the previous installments in the series and set a standard that subsequent sequels could not match. In Czech, the film remains connected to Helena Pešková's translation, which gives the dubbing its own distinctive character.
