Shadows Under the Tower – Musical Premiere

An original musical "Shadows Under the Tower" is set in 17th-century rural Bohemia. Matěj learns he is to marry Milada, the mayor's daughter — but comedians arrive in the village, and among them is Jarek, who awakens in Matěj a longing for a different life. Matěj decides to leave with the comedians for a year to see the world. Meanwhile, unrest grows at home: the region is plagued by drought, and the fanatical mayor seeks not the cause of the disaster, but a culprit.

The musical tells a balladic story of love, fear, and a society that punishes difference — a world where obedience means safety, but freedom can cost your life.

Age recommendation: 15+. The production contains sensitive themes, intense emotional situations, and motifs of violence, death, and social condemnation. The performance is presented in Czech.
