About the venue: Krňany

Krňany is a municipality in Benešov District in the Central Bohemian Region, situated on a ridge between the Vltava and Sázava rivers, approximately 30 km south of Prague. The village has around 500 inhabitants and consists of three parts: Krňany, Teletín and Třebsín. It is first mentioned in written records from 1061. The surrounding area hosts outdoor cultural events, including the Třebsínské zvonění music festival.

About: ANTIKVARTET

Antikvartet is a Czech vocal ensemble founded by Dušan Vančura in 1962 as a student joke - the name is a dig at the then-emerging Spirituál kvartet. Most members soon moved to Spirituál kvintet, and the group lay dormant for fifty years before Vančura revived it in 2013. Their repertoire spans four-part choral literature, folk songs, spirituals and contemporary pieces, with a large share of the lyrics written by Vančura himself.

Miroslav Paleček is a Czech singer-songwriter and guitarist active on the folk and chanson scene since the late 1960s. He launched his career with a street performance on Charles Bridge in 1968 and has been associated with Prague's Semafor theatre and the PORTA folk festival. He is known for setting Czech poetry to music.
