The 66th edition of the Zlín Film Festival – an International Festival of Films for Children and Youth – takes place from May 28 to June 3, 2026 in Zlín. It is one of the oldest and largest film festivals of its kind in the world, attracting over 120,000 visitors annually. Across six competitive and additional non-competitive sections, over 300 films from a record 57 countries will be presented, including world, Czech, and international premieres. The festival will open with the Czech family fantasy "Máma a Táta jsou Boží" in its world premiere. The prestigious Golden Caterpillar award will be presented this year to actor Petr Kostka and television creator Petr Koliha. This edition commemorates 100 years since the birth of screenwriter Miloš Macourek and the 90th anniversary of Zlín's film studios. New features include the ZLINFEST zone at Zlín Castle, connecting cinemas with open-air festival activities, and the ZLINFEST PRO platform for film professionals and young creators. On Sunday, May 31, the 11th edition of the Festival Half-Marathon MONET+ Zlín and the 29th Film Clapper Salon will take place, with proceeds supporting emerging filmmakers through the FILMTALENT ZLÍN Foundation. Tickets can be purchased online at vstupenky.zlinfest.cz or via the Zlinfest mobile app. Children under 6 enter free; holders of ZTP/ZTP-P passes are entitled to a 50% discount.
