Petr Kostka (born 11 June 1938 in Říčany near Prague) is a Czech actor from a theatrical family with roots going back to the early 19th century. He spent fourteen years at the Prague Municipal Theatres, twenty years at the National Theatre, and later at the Divadlo na Vinohradech - today he works freelance across Prague's stages. Director Jiří Krejčík launched his film career; TV audiences know him best as Chief Constable Šiktanc in the series Četnické humoresky, and he is also the Czech voice of Hercule Poirot. He holds two Thalia Awards: for the role of Herman in Smíšené pocity (2003) and for lifetime achievement in drama (2018).
