KHWOSHCH: The Nutcracker. A Vegetable Cabaret.

A vegetable ballet accompanied by the music of P. I. Tchaikovsky, in which the main roles are danced by garlic, ginger, eggplant, celery, patisson, one rat, and several walnuts. The performance is presented by graduates of the puppet theatre department of KALD DAMU, Daria Gosteva and Anastasia Dobrodinskaya (group KHWOSHCH). The production was created with the support of KALD DAMU and Nová síť.

Daria Gosteva (Dinopera, Moskva-Dačnoje, Těžké divadlo) works on scenography and direction, Anastasia Dobrodinskaya (Musaši Entertainment Company: Ř.I.P) on object and puppet acting and performance. Both met at KALD DAMU, where they are currently studying. Anastasia encountered the original Nutcracker ballet during her studies at the Dance Conservatory of Prague, where she danced in it herself.

The KHWOSHCH group is also home to the tragic dinosaur opera Dinopera, which has been awarded at many international festivals. The performance is intended for both children and adults.
