Baroque Complex Kuks, Kuks · from 0 Kč
A fairy-tale vegetable ballet set to the iconic music of P. I. Tchaikovsky, featuring vegetable dancers in the lead roles: garlic, ginger, eggplant, celery, patty pan squash, one rat, and several walnuts. This unique production by graduates of the puppet theatre department at KALD DAMU, young creators Daria Gosteva and Anastasia Dobrodinskaya (group KHWOSHCH), brings the magic of puppet theatre to audiences of all ages through a fresh and unconventional interpretation.
The production was created with support from KALD DAMU and the New Network. About the creators: Daria Gosteva and Anastasia Dobrodinskaya (group KHWOSHCH) met at KALD DAMU, where both are currently studying. Anastasia (Musaši Entertainment Company: Ř.I.P) works in object and puppet acting and performance, while Daria (Dinopera, Moscow-Dacha, Heavy Theatre) specializes in scenography and directing. The vegetable ballet represents the next step in exploring traditional theatrical forms and the possibilities of puppet theatre, a focus of Daria's work. The tragic dinosaur opera Dinopera, also created as part of the international theatre collective KHWOSHCH, has been recognized at numerous international festivals. Anastasia became deeply familiar with the original Nutcracker ballet during her studies at the Dance Conservatory of Prague. She performed in the ballet herself, carefully exploring the potential of vegetable dancers to create a unique vegetable choreography.
