About the venue: Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava

The Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava (GVUO), founded in 1952, is the oldest and largest collection-building gallery in the Moravian-Silesian Region. It is housed in the House of Art, a listed functionalist building from 1926 designed by architects Fiala and Wallenfels. The collection comprises over 23,000 art objects, placing GVUO among the five most significant collecting institutions in the Czech Republic. The gallery presents temporary and permanent exhibitions as well as accompanying programmes including lectures, workshops, and educational activities.
