Archive Evening | Lecture and Film

An evening combining a lecture from the ACCESSIBLE HOUSING cycle with a screening of the documentary Women of the Bauhaus.

Founders of IFUB studio (Institut für u. Baukunst) Johannes Krohne and Bernhard Kurz will discuss the development of community housing in Berlin and throughout Germany. The studio describes its philosophy as "architecture and interior design for the common good" and in its work strives for restraint as a key element of sustainability.

The lecture will be followed by a screening of the documentary Women of the Bauhaus, which opened the Film and Architecture festival last year. The film pays tribute to forgotten female authors and shows their efforts to establish themselves in fields that were dominated by men at the time.

The lecture begins at 19:00, the film screening follows from 21:00. Discounted admission is available for both events, or each can be purchased separately.
