A hobbymarket — a place where people come to fulfill their building dreams and develop a relationship with nature and DIY. At the same time, a place of burned-out employees, frustrated customers, endless checkout queues, inventive shoplifters, and hateful complaints.
Anna Davidová's production is loosely based on the eponymous literary debut by Mikuláš Křepelka, which in the form of diary entries captures the everyday reality of a hobbymarket manager — a position the author himself held for many years. In the theatrical adaptation, the large-scale retail store is staged as a portrait of contemporary divided society, in which it is easy to lose oneself not only among the shelves, but also within oneself.
