Outdoor Game: Journey Through Prague 2 – Famous Women of the Past

Outdoor Game: Journey Through Prague 2 – Famous Women of the Past is the sixteenth route in a successful series organized by the Prague 2 municipal office. The trail guides participants through New Town following the footsteps of women who fought for equality or achieved prominence in their fields at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. It commemorates figures such as Karolina Světlá, Eliška Krásnohorská, and Františka Plamínková, who championed the women's movement and secured the right to education, the abolition of the celibacy requirement for teachers, and voting rights. The route also features locations connected to writers Božena Němcová and Tereza Nováková, Sokol member Klemeňa Hanušová, opera diva Ema Destinnová, Nobel Prize winner Gerta T. Cori, and physician Anna Honzáková. The trail with ten stops begins at Karlovo náměstí, leads to the Sokol building on Žitná Street, and returns to Na Moráni Street. The total distance is just over three kilometers and takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete – it can also be done gradually over multiple outings. Players complete two types of tasks: answering questions about the visited location and completing challenges related to famous women. Participation is free; participants who score 80 or more points are entered into a draw for prizes. The game can be played online via putovani.praha2.cz or with a printed paper form.
