Let the Ghosts Live!
The film story "Let the Ghosts Live!" comes to the theatre stage in the production of Divadlo Pohádek. This is not merely a copy of the film – the production combines the classic tale with modern theatrical form and appeals to audiences of all generations.
The plot unfolds in the old castle Brtník, which the peddler Jouza intends to transform into a mushroom farm. A group of local children decides to save the castle – and its inhabitants come in handy: the eccentric knight Vilém Brtník of Brtník, his daughter Leontýnka, and industrious goblins. Alongside the adventurous plot runs a story of first love – and the fate of the unfortunate Leontýnka depends on a single daisy given by Dlouhý Jenda.
The entire performance is accompanied by songs by Svěrák and Uhlíř: "The Forester is the Master of the Forest", "Call the Guards", "Ghosts Haunt Our Ruin", "Stuffed Mushrooms" and "The Spring of Health from Posázaví".
