About the venue: Viola Theatre

Divadlo Viola is a Prague chamber theatre focused on performances inspired by literary texts. It is housed in the courtyard of an Art Nouveau building on Národní třída, designed by architect Osvald Polívka in 1906. Founded in 1963 as the Poetická vinárna Viola (Poetic Wine Bar), it gradually evolved into a full theatre with a repertoire spanning scenic readings, chamber drama and cabaret. The intimate hall seats around 80 and has hosted many legends of Czech acting.

About: Oscar Wilde

Oscar Wilde (1854–1900) was an Irish writer, poet and playwright known for his sharp wit and aestheticism. His works include the novel The Picture of Dorian Gray and the play The Importance of Being Earnest. He also wrote the comic ghost story The Canterville Ghost (1887), which has been widely adapted for stage and screen.
