A permanent exhibition of paintings and graphics by artist and graphic designer Vladislav Kaska is housed in the former Franciscan monastery in Votice.

Vladislav Kaska was born on 27 June 1945 in Plzeň. As a child, he was introduced to artistic creation by Plzeň landscape painter František Hrabák.

About the venue: Votice Monastery

The former Franciscan monastery of St. Francis of Assisi in Votice is a Baroque monastic complex founded in 1627 by Count Sezima z Vrtby. Its current form dates from a major reconstruction in 1766–1771. After being seized by the communist secret police in 1950 and used for industrial purposes, the monastery was restored and reopened in 2015 as a cultural centre. Visitors can explore permanent exhibitions (Franciscan life, regional museum, pram and doll collection, Gallery of St. Francis), seasonal exhibitions, and cultural events.
