A dramatic journey from Baroque piety to totalitarian ideology. In spring 2025, the Czech Republic commemorated the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. For this occasion, the Brno City Museum opened a new anti-war exhibition called "Chapel of Crosses" in a former Baroque chapel.

About the venue: City Museum Brno

Muzeum města Brna is housed in Špilberk Castle, which has overlooked Brno from its hilltop since the 13th century. The castle served as a royal residence before becoming one of the most feared Habsburg prisons in Central Europe; today it holds permanent exhibitions on Brno's history alongside temporary shows. The casemates, where political prisoners from across Europe were once held, draw visitors year-round.
