Opening Concert for Plzeň Region: In the Name of Love

The opening concert of the "In the Name of Love" festival takes place on Tuesday, 9 June 2026 in Plzeň at the Great Synagogue of the Czech Republic. Johann Sebastian Bach brings a crossover of Baroque music, film scores, and biblical verses celebrating love as a spiritual value to the Great Synagogue in Plzeň. This is the third of six Czech concert dates on his tour — following two Prague performances in May, Bach stops in Plzeň before continuing to Šumperk, Hejnice, and Olomouc. The monumental Romanesque Revival building with Moorish elements and two 45-metre towers, constructed in 1888–1892, provides a distinctive setting for a programme combining works by Bach, Ennio Morricone, and Josef Vejvoda.
