A surrealist narrative about two young women who decide to become as corrupt as the world around them—a biting commentary on conformism, petty-bourgeois narrow-mindedness, and the limits of carefree living. The collage-like visual composition gave cinematographer Jaroslav Kučera ample room for experimentation. This playful allegory proved its provocative power in May 1967, when it became the subject of an interpellation by an outraged deputy, Jaroslav Pružince.
