Folk Holidays (Folkové prázdniny) is an eight-day summer festival held in the grounds of the Renaissance castle in Náměšť nad Oslavou. Each evening has its own theme, and the programming deliberately crosses genre boundaries - from world music and folk through jazz to classical. The festival also includes Hnízdo múz, a large workshop strand covering music, dance and visual arts, an afternoon Open Scéna mini-festival in the St. Anna chapel, and a musicological colloquium on folk music. Running every year at the turn of July and August, it has built a solid reputation among European summer festivals of its kind over four decades.

About: The Breath

The Breath is a Manchester duo: singer and flautist Ríoghnach Connolly, a BBC Folk Award winner, and guitarist Stuart McCallum, formerly of The Cinematic Orchestra. Their sound weaves Irish folk roots with ambient electronics and rock energy. Three albums on Peter Gabriel's Real World Records, starting with the acclaimed debut Carry Your Kin in 2016.
