Folk Holidays (Folkové prázdniny) is an eight-day summer festival held in the grounds of the Renaissance castle in Náměšť nad Oslavou. Each evening has its own theme, and the programming deliberately crosses genre boundaries - from world music and folk through jazz to classical. The festival also includes Hnízdo múz, a large workshop strand covering music, dance and visual arts, an afternoon Open Scéna mini-festival in the St. Anna chapel, and a musicological colloquium on folk music. Running every year at the turn of July and August, it has built a solid reputation among European summer festivals of its kind over four decades.
