Petr Tomeček / Pan's Flute in Full Splendour

Petr Tomeček's concert "Pan's Flute in Full Splendour" takes place at the Old Synagogue in Plzeň. The programme features well-known melodies across genres — including "Love Story", music from the film "Once Upon a Time in the West" and the theme from "The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe". Between pieces, Petr Tomeček speaks about the pan flute and his journey with this instrument.

Petr Tomeček studied at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava as a trumpeter and performed with the Prague Castle Guard Orchestra, the National Theatre of Moravian Silesia and the Silesian Theatre in Opava. He studied pan flute under Liselotte Rokyta and German virtuoso Ulrich Herkenhoffer; he met personally and maintained contact with Maestro Gheorghe Zamfir. In his repertoire he blends classical music with film melodies, musical theatre themes and sacred compositions.
