The programme focuses on the architectural and historical development of the Convent of St. Agnes and its founder, St. Agnes of Bohemia. Students will learn about the life of this Přemyslid princess against the cultural and historical backdrop of the 13th century and understand the significance of the convent within the Bohemian kingdom.

The programme includes an introduction to the main elements of Gothic and monastic medieval architecture. It is designed for secondary school groups, lasts 120 minutes, and accommodates 12–28 people. Price: 100 CZK per person; 2 teachers have free admission.

About the venue: St. Agnes Convent

The Convent of St Agnes of Bohemia is one of the most important Gothic buildings in Prague, founded in the 1230s by the Premyslid princess St Agnes of Bohemia as the first convent of the Poor Clares north of the Alps. Today it forms part of the National Gallery Prague and houses the permanent exhibition Medieval Art in Bohemia and Central Europe 1200–1550. Visitors can explore the Oratory of St Agnes, the Shrine of the Saviour, and the Church of St Francis, where the remains of King Wenceslas I are buried.
