Ucpanej systém – Dejvické divadlo in Cinema

Kino Luna, Ostrava-Jih

The legendary Dejvické divadlo production Ucpanej systém returns to cinemas in a remastered version. It is an adaptation of the short-story collection and film screenplay The Acid House by Scottish writer Irvine Welsh, staged at Dejvické divadlo in 2012 by director Michal Vajdička. The story follows young people trapped in the hopelessness of their own existence—and they even meet God in a pub. Beneath the dark humour lies a generational statement.

The cast includes Ivan Trojan, Miroslav Krobot, Klára Melíšková, Lenka Krobotová, Václav Neužil, Hynek Čermák, Jaroslav Plesl, Martin Myšička, Martin Pechlát and others. The production won the Alfred Radok Award for best production of 2012; Ivan Trojan was honoured for his role as God with the Alfred Radok Award and a nomination for the Thalia Prize.

The new remaster offers significantly improved image and sound quality and a re-edited cut. The live broadcast of the final performance in 2023 was seen by over 33,000 cinema-goers; due to strong demand, screenings are expanding to dates from 15 April to 31 May 2026. The performance runs 140 minutes and is suitable from age 15.
