Through the History of Bohemia in Mala Strana — Praha - Mala Strana, Prague

Mala Strana is one of Prague's most beautiful districts, and the history of the entire country has unfolded through its streets. Originally an unfortified settlement below the castle, it grew alongside the Czech state, and major historical milestones left their mark in the form of buildings and legends inseparable from Prague.

The walk leads from the earliest Premyslid era through the reign of Charles IV, who expanded and embellished Prague, to the Rudolfine period, when the city flourished. Stone witnesses of the Baroque era will recall the post-White Mountain years and the enlightened reforms of some Habsburgs.

Meeting point: Pětikostelní Square, in the small park in front of the Fantův House (Alchymist Prague Castle Suites hotel, Sněmovní 164/8). The tour is led by guide Michal Šedivý.
