Macbeth | Giuseppe Verdi

The Metropolitan Opera's new production of Verdi's dramatic adaptation of Shakespeare's tale of ambition and power comes to cinema screens via The Met: Live in HD. Baritone Quinn Kelsey performs the Scottish king Macbeth, haunted by the ghosts of those he murdered on his path to the throne, while soprano Lise Davidsen sings Lady Macbeth, whose ruthless ambition destroys them both. Met Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts this new staging directed by Louisa Prosek, with tenor Freddie De Tommaso as Macduff and bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green as Banquo.
