Power Ballad
A romantic comedy about two musicians - a fading wedding band singer and a former boy band star - whose friendship is tested when one steals the other's song and turns it into a hit.
Jack Reynor (born 23 January 1992 in Longmont, Colorado) is an Irish-American actor who grew up in County Wicklow, Ireland. His breakthrough came with Lenny Abrahamson's What Richard Did (2012), which earned him the IFTA Best Actor award, and he gained wide international recognition starring in Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014). He is now best known for Ari Aster's Midsommar (2019), the sci-fi series The Peripheral (2022), and the Netflix hit miniseries The Perfect Couple (2024) opposite Nicole Kidman. In 2026 he appeared in Lee Cronin's horror reboot The Mummy, joined the second season of Prime Video's Citadel, and starred in the musical comedy Power Ballad - his fourth collaboration with Irish director John Carney.
Reynor spoke in an interview for Men's Journal (June 2026) about his current projects - The Mummy, Citadel season 2, and Power Ballad - and about how his experience with Transformers led him to prioritize acting integrity over commercial success.
Reynor appeared in the second season of the spy series Citadel on Prime Video (premiere May 6, 2026) as former CIA agent James Hutch.
The musical comedy Power Ballad, Reynor's fourth collaboration with director John Carney, premiered in cinemas on May 29, 2026; Reynor plays the manager of a musician played by Nick Jonas.
The horror film The Mummy directed by Lee Cronin, in which Reynor plays the lead role, premiered on April 17, 2026; the film was produced by Blumhouse and Atomic Monster studios.
In May 2025, Reynor signed an open letter calling on the London theatre Almeida to end its partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies due to its financial support for Israeli settlements.
