Student Concert sebeReflexe
The Student Symphony Orchestra Plzeň presents a concert in collaboration with the city's cultural institutions to celebrate International Students' Day, the Day of Struggle for Freedom and Democracy, the round anniversary of Václav Havel's birth, and the signing of Charter 77.
The programme combines Czech classical, film, and popular music with personal stories of people whose lives were shaped by pivotal events of the second half of the 20th century. Individual compositions will be interspersed with meetings between students and witnesses - signatories of Charter 77, figures from Plzeň's dissident, cultural and scientific circles, and direct participants in the events of 1968 and 1989. Through questions from the younger generation, their memories will become part of a dialogue about freedom, civic courage, and experiences of oppression.
The project was prepared by Plzeň students. Its aim is to raise awareness of artistic student activity and recall the history that shaped modern society in our democratic republic.
