Night of Theatres 2026

Night of Theatres 2026 is centred on the theme "Unawakened", inspired by Martin Kukučín's novella of the same name. The theme explores an individual who defies social norms and faces condemnation or ridicule, as well as society's perception of humanity.

The crossed-out prefix "UN" symbolises opening the discussion of indifference towards the world around us, other people, and our own emotions. Theatre has the power to bring people together and, through questioning, foster sensitivity, empathy, and public dialogue.

At a time when attention often retreats into private spheres or digital spaces, theatre continues to offer the chance to perceive different perspectives. Night of Theatres 2026 celebrates shared experience, culture, and personal encounter.
