Michal Pavlíček: Rocker Version 7.0

Michal Pavlíček is an exceptional creator who has already said much about himself. Instead of a conventional biographical portrait, director Michal Baumbruck offers a unique insight into the situation of a rock star and composer approaching his seventies. What energizes a successful musician and virtuoso, and what limits him? What awaits him in this phase of life? Is creativity, inspiration, and the drive to create inexhaustible?

The camera captures Michal during a series of concerts shortly after he has recovered from orthopedic surgery and returns to the stage. We see how much effort it takes for him to present himself to his audiences across the country as they know him.

In parallel storylines, the viewer closely follows the process of creating music for a theatre production, music being created simultaneously for the Czech Television series "Octopus," and the recording of another Pavlíček solo album. The film also witnesses crucial decisions Michal makes as he closes certain chapters of his life.
