Operky

"Operky" are four musical fairy tales — "Budulínek", "Little Red Riding Hood", "The Twelve Months", and "Sleeping Beauty" — created by composer Jaroslav Uhlíř and screenwriter, dramatist, actor and writer Zdeněk Svěrák. They were created between 2004 and 2008 and were originally each part of the children's television programme "Hour of Song".

The authors say about them that they "wanted to try something bigger than a song, but smaller than a musical". The fairy tales are intended primarily for children, but the texts and songs appeal to adult audiences as well.
