Dance Prague 2026: Mitbarberot

Mitbarberot is a work by Israeli duo Michal Herman & Anat Grigorio, independent creators with extensive dance experience. Both authors are also performers. The title can be loosely translated from Hebrew as "losing one's way."

In the performance, both dancers attempt to surrender control, abandon ambitions and expectations — and through humor and the present moment, they discover new aspects of themselves. The piece constantly transforms alongside the musical accompaniment, while the stage remains bare, without unnecessary elements or effects.

The choreographic language is built on movement cycles, gradation and release, working with the absurdity of heightened elements, contact improvisation, and play. The expression of both performers is multifaceted — spontaneous and graceful at once, always authentic.
